Through the years, basketball has enjoyed a great relationship with the United Kingdom, dating back to the 1990’s when Michael Jordan first appeared on British television to the NBA and Euroleague playing at London’s O2 Arena, the world’s busiest live entertainment venue. The excitement of live basketball has proved attractive in this marketplace, positioning the United Kingdom for a new competition and a new era.
Backed by R&R Venture Partners and notable private investors from both sides of the Atlantic, PLB plans to become the world’s top destination for emerging international basketball talent whilst laying the foundation for Britain’s next generation of basketball stars.
We have extensively researched the market and developed partnerships in anticipation of our inaugural season. The response has been outstanding, seeding the ground for new partnerships. We very much look forward to delivering world-class, sports entertainment to the United Kingdom.
As we launch our business, we will connect with fans, attract television viewers and continue to build relationships. It’s an exciting time to be involved with PLB. WHO IS PLB?
Our management and advisory team include proven finance, entertainment, sports marketing and basketball operations professionals from both sides of the Atlantic. Members of the PLB team have been instrumental in the successful launch of the WNBA and the NBA G League, as well as the establishment, operation and management of NBA and European franchises including the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, C.B. Bilbao Basket and FC Barcelona Basquet.
